Plot Review:

The story centers on Charlie, a young woman who drops out of film school after witnessing a serial killer kill her best friend Maddy. The murderer, who was known as “The Campus Killer,” had been killing women on their campus. Charlie had assumed at the time that the murder was one of her visual hallucinations, which she frequently experiences, particularly in emotionally charged situations.

Typically, these hallucinations take the form of movie scenes. Charlie feels a great deal of guilt because she did not stop the murder and cannot provide many helpful details. Because her parents died in a car accident, she doesn’t drive, so she gets a ride home through a ride share and meets Josh.
